I am a budding husband, father, teacher, student, coach and friend.
I’m married to my best friend, the former Jessica Whetstine. We have three precious lover boys, Josiah, age 8, and Gideon, age 5, and Judah, age 1.

I am a graduate of Florida State University and a diehard college football fan (GO NOLES!). By a strange twist of Providence I teach math and social studies to high schoolers in Panama City, FL. I also coach high school football and track though I know very little about either.
I have a peculiar affinity for cheap coffee, old vinyl records, reformed theology, collision sports, and wrestling with my sons.
I started this online journal in the Fall of 2010 as a simple outlet for my thoughts. I count myself as one of those who learn as they write and write as they learn. I hope having a blog doesn’t fuel my self promoting narcissistic tendencies. Also, “Chief of the least” may sound like a disingenuous attempt at humility, but it’s not…I think.
My all-consuming vision is to be found faithful to the end.

Great to make your aquaintence Chief! I’m a 49ers fan and loosely followed Auburn (after reading Chad Gibbs awesome book ‘Faith and Football’) but one of my students said I should support a college team closer to San Francisco – he is a Dolphins and Gators fan – so I’m going with Stanford next season. God Bless You and your family!
Nothing wrong with Stanford (I like them over USC anyday) Great school and program…God bless!
Thanks for the likes on a few of my blogposts! I love finding other people blogging about Jesus and life and stuff (cuz that’s what I do, too)!

I need to purchase a few more minutes in the day so that I can read more. God bless you Sir, keep fighting the good fight of faith!

Thanks Bryan for your encouragement,
I have only been a “true believer” since 2001. But fast tracking in knowledge as this is my love – learning more and helping others to learn.
Right now I am with my daughter and husband as they have their first baby. A grandson – 10 pounds 7 ounces.
This is our 5th grandchild but never have I stayed this long with a member of the family. My husband is staying in Arizona (we winter there).
lots of fun…
Blessings,
Jan

Thanks for the tag Bird! : )
My pleasure, Bryan!
Bryan,
I took a look at your blog. You have some excellent information on it. The London Baptist Confession was interesting. There are many historic creeds which I would like to review but they are so time consuming. I have read the Apostle’s Creed, Athanaeus creed, and Nicean Creed etc.
However, being a Baptist by conviction I am more interested in what the Bible clearly says. Creeds and doctrinal statements of faith are important but have a limited purpose. I am Baptist because of the basics of Baptists. They believe in volintary religion. That is, they believe that every person must made his peace with God personally. They do not believe in infant baptism because the Bible clearly teaches what is known as “believers baptism”. A child has to be mature enough to understand and receive Jesus as Saviour for himself. As far as I know there were or never have been Baptists that persecuted other groups or denominations. The Baptist are probably not “Protestants” and did not come out of the Reformation. All or almost all of the leaders of the Reformation came out of the Roman Catholic Church. How do you make a Christian nation? You baptize(sprinkle) them before they are old enough to decide for themselves. Are you aware that there are three distinct Greek words for “sprinkling”, “pouring” and “dipping or immersing”. The Greek word for sprinkling is “Rantizo” All that came out of the Roman Catholic Church continued many of the unbiblical practices of the Roman Catholic Church.
Talk with you later. By the way I enjoy almost all of Charles Spurgeon’s sermons and writings. Have you read his classic work All of Grace. This was the first Christian paperback book. Out of all the World of Christian literature this book was chosen by Moody Press to become the first Christian paperback. We have it on our blog site connected to the Salvation article 01 Salvation. The article is
04 All of Grace. The short link will take you to our website. Please continue your work and service of Jesus Christ. “Your labour is not in vain in the Lord”! 1 Corinthians 15:58

Hi Bryan,
I can see via what you have written that you have a Godly heart and a man of courage and humility. It is great to know that there are people out there like you and your family.
May you grow in stature and the love of the Lord Jesus Christ who will complete the work which He has started in you.
Follow His steps and voice and no other. No compromise.

What a beautiful family! Congrats on two great sons.
Thanks for your LIKE on my WP blog today.
Sure seems like things are ramping up in terms of globalist skullduggery and END TIMES stuff . . .
REGARDLESS, IT’S WAY PAST TIME FOR FOLKS–all kinds of folks–TO WALK AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE LORD JESUS.
. . . WALKING . . .
–confessed up
–repented up
–prayed up
. . . as ready as we can contribute to–to being prepared to . . .
go up . . . if that’s how He orchestrates things . . .
Will have to check your blog out.
You may have noticed the wide range of topics that foster my blathering I do at my blog.
My main purpose is as a watchman . . . a rather sobering ‘thrownness’ that I take fairly seriously and never want to be caught short on.
Of course, it’s more often the lone voice crying in the wilderness . . . to the cacti and horned toads . . .
Just so Father, Son, Spirit affirm my doings . . . . that’s the only real priority.
God’s best to you and yours.
Blessings in His service and Love.

I appreciate you visiting my blog, bro. Continue standing upon God’s truth.
I nominated you for the Kreativ Blogger Award!
http://austincoons.wordpress.com/2012/04/21/kreativ-blogger-award/
Hey! I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine Award!
Check it here http://originalapplejunkie.wordpress.com/2012/04/25/day-116-sunshine-award/ and be blessed!
Hi, Bryan. Just wanted to tell you that I have nominated you for the “Versatile Blogger” award. If you have received it previously, I apologize for missing it. Didn’t see it posted though, so hopefully I’m not out of
line. You can find the details about the award on either of my sites:
Here’s the link to the one I’m writing from: http://hanginoutwithgod.wordpress.com/2012/04/27/versatile-blogger-award/
As with most of the awards, there are so-called “rules” involved in accepting it, mainly letting people know more about you and passing the award on to other bloggers. However, since the rules suggest passing it on to 15 others, I always like to tell people, please don’t feel pressured by that. Pass it on to only those that you feel you know well enough to consider truly versatile and that you have time to contact. I nominated only 5 for now, but I will add more as I get to know more. I also never pass on an award unless I think it fits the blogger, and this award fits you. You come across is multi-skilled, flexible, and well-rounded (all of which are part of the definition of “versatile.”). And even though your focus is always on God and His truth, you have offered a number of different ways for people to receive from your site.
So congratulations on the versatility of your blog. Enjoy the honor.
Sandra
Thank you for the nomination. I am honored, I will be sure to check it out!
God bless you on your Journey, and thank you for sharing it withus 🙂
God bless you, it is my pleasure to share it with folk like you!

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed reading your testimony. I look forward to reading more of what God has placed in your heart.
Glad I found your blog, Bryan. Keep up the good work (and especially the reformed theology!).
I must say, one the most awesome fruits that have come from starting to blog about my love of Jesus Christ, is that I’ve met other like-minded brothers and sisters who feel the same way. And mainly by them visiting my blog, which I’m always happy to visit theirs, and in so doing, dive into awesomeness and inspiration by their writing and example.
For that I thank you Bryan for visiting and liking my blog, and in so doing, introducing me to yours!
Be blessed brother, and may God continue to pour out his love and blessing on you and your family : )
Hi Chief Bryan. Thank you for liking my “Delight Yourself in the Lord” blog. I notice that you have a section on “Reform Theology.” I have an ongoing discussion about free will and predestination that you might want to participate in on my other blog,
“Gothic Romance” (aka “The Prince in the Tower”). You have a lovely family and an a fascinating blog. Blessings!
Hello, Bryan (with a y). Thanks heaps for visiting my blog. You’ve been doing it longer than I have, but I would just offer this one comment that you’ve probably already figured out by now; if a person has any self-promoting narcissistic tendencies at all, trying to write a good blog is an excellent way to knock the stuffing right out of them. God bless you and your beautiful family!
Thank you Bryan for visiting my blog. Your writing is a tool God is perfecting and making Himself known…don’t ever doubt that! God has hand taught me in this blogging adventure….just wish I knew more about WordPress! You are right down the road neighbor, we are in south Georgia. Merry Christmas and keep sharing!
Thank-you for taking the time to encourage me, and for praying alongside me in Blue Stone City. Blessings to you as a writer, teacher and family man this year. ~Miriam
