Come Thou Fount To Every Wanderer

One of my favorite hymns performed by one of my favorite artists (Sufjan Stevens). It offers a heartrending backstory too. Around the “prone to wander…” lyric I usually start falling apart at the seams.

  1. Wow. Wow.

    Wow.

I keep trying to come up with something else to say, and all that comes up is, “Wow.” So I’ll just shut up, now.

Thank you so much for sharing that.

  2. Reblogged this on A DEVOTED LIFE and commented:
We are all prone to wander but our gracious Father will always through a celebration when our eyes are opened and we return to his loving embrace.

  3. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I just came home from a Women’s Group Christmas Luncheon and the gossip, the complaining and the eternal choir fight problems were unbearable. This hymn, which I love remind me that my focus needs to be on the fount, and not on the broken pipes.

  4. OK Bryan, you’ve officially made me cry, though I doubt it is for the first time. I watched this and saw my son in the Navy who has fallen away from his faith. Please lift him up. Thanks much, this was beautiful. I absolutely love the old traditional hymns.
