One of my favorite hymns performed by one of my favorite artists (Sufjan Stevens). It offers a heartrending backstory too. Around the “prone to wander…” lyric I usually start falling apart at the seams.

Wow. Wow.
Wow.
I keep trying to come up with something else to say, and all that comes up is, “Wow.” So I’ll just shut up, now.
Thank you so much for sharing that.
AMEN!
My favorite hymn. Haunting and human.
Reblogged this on A DEVOTED LIFE and commented:
We are all prone to wander but our gracious Father will always through a celebration when our eyes are opened and we return to his loving embrace.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I just came home from a Women’s Group Christmas Luncheon and the gossip, the complaining and the eternal choir fight problems were unbearable. This hymn, which I love remind me that my focus needs to be on the fount, and not on the broken pipes.
Awesome!
OK Bryan, you’ve officially made me cry, though I doubt it is for the first time. I watched this and saw my son in the Navy who has fallen away from his faith. Please lift him up. Thanks much, this was beautiful. I absolutely love the old traditional hymns.
Will do! Wanderers and prodigals can only run for so long from the relentless pursuit of this “Fount”!
One of my favorites too. And I also fall apart.
Beautiful! This is a magnificent hymn. Thanks for sharing this video with us. Another touching hymn about the “Fount” is, There Is A Fountain.
That’s a great one too! Thanks for the follow!
Awesome, awesome, awesome!
