Evil Utterly Subverted For Good

“The answer to the problem of evil does not lie in trying to establish its point of origin, for that is simply not revealed to us. Rather, in the moment of the cross, it becomes clear that evil is utterly subverted for good…. If God can take the greatest of evils and turn them for the greatest of goods, then how much more can he take the lesser evils which litter human history, from individual tragedies to international disasters, and turn them to his good purpose as well.”

    1. God did not create evil all thigns that were created were created good and God saw all that he created and it was good, first chapter of Genesis. Satan in his rebellion against God, fell from heaven and in tempting Adam and Eve and with their fall has placed all of creation under the curse of sin, pain, suffering, etc. The creation will remain under this curse under Christ returns in final judgement and all thigns will be purified as if by fire. The wicked to final punishment in the absence of Gods grace in hell and the believers to eternal joy with God and Christ in the new heavens and new earth.Rev 21:1 1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.. My rational mind.

  1. This is something I try to constantly keep in mind, Bryan. For instance, when my dad died unexpectedly in his auto accident, I was in the emergency room sitting next to his lifeless body when the Justice of the Peace told me he’d pray for my father. Not for our family. He’d begin praying for my father. Who, obviously, was dead.

At that very moment, I had an “aha” moment. Whereas all I could previously sense was death, I realized I could use that “dead” opportunity to bring “life.” So, even if his death was a work of evil (there’s a debate for you!), I knew God could turn it into good.

I asked the JP for clarification (knowing what he’d say but wanting him to also hear his own words). I then went back to the Old Testament and began preaching from there to the New Testament about the atonement, heaven and hell. And the One and Only Way to eternal salvation. Because everyone in the room felt sorry for me, having just lost my daddy, I had a captive audience and full stage! Getting good out of something bad. Only God. 😉

    1. Awesome story Cristal! I bet there were a few chill bumps encountered there! Thanks for sharing the encourgaging story, it is amazing how God will redeem even the darkest moments.

  2. 2 Corinth. 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

    If life is a file

    As live is to evil

Then lived is to the devil

    As time is to emit

Is this a fact or a truth? – There is a difference.

Eph.6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places].

A 2008 speech by presidential candidate Rick Santorum resurfaced and instantly became the epicenter of a major controversy – Why? – Because it mentioned Satan.

“This is not a political war at all. This is not a cultural war at all. This is a spiritual war,” Mr. Santorum told an audience of students at a Catholic university in Florida.

Mr. Santorum also said that the devil heavily influences American academia, religion, culture and politics.

How many people actually believe the above statements by Mr. Santorum?

It would appear that many people who sincerely believe they follow the path of Jesus Christ are actually deceived! – According to the Bible at least.

2 Corinth.11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

“The answer to the problem of evil does not lie in trying to establish its point of origin, for that is simply not revealed to us.

    End Quote:

The origin of evil would appear to be revealed to us through Biblical study – but the methods employed are often well hidden and unseen – but there is also revealed to us the prime method of deceptive influence – Eph.2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

‘Power of the air’ being the operative method of influence – the frequency an individual is ‘tuned to’ at any particular moment will influence the signal received.

A somewhat cryptic answer that will, perhaps, give the interested reader food for further study?
