Our Awkward Christmas Photo Party Highlights and Unto Us A Band Is Born

If you want a quick Christmas chuckle, go to the “Awkward Daniels Family Christmas Photo” post I wrote last year. Sorry, I don’t have a hilarious story or thorough explanation for our Christmas card this year.

But I did want to share a few of my favorite photos from our “Awkward Family Photo Christmas Party” my wife and I had this past Wednesday night for our young adult group. The party was a tribute to the delightful site “Awkward Family Photos.”

Remember, the goal was to capture on camera the most awkward/tacky/zany moments we could. I think some of my friends went beyond the call of duty in that regard. I’ll let these gems speak for themselves:

Lastly, I would like to involve you, the reader, in the awkwardness of this post. My friends are starting a band and are having difficulty coming up with a name. They are going to use the following image as their album cover. With only that info in hand, please give me your suggestions on a band name. They have a folk/emo/electronic sound:

Merry Christmas and may God keep you and bless you this new year!

  1. Blah Blah Blah yeah and Blah! Sex, chips and bad movies Christmas compromise photos taken in tinsel and with on coming heartburn and embarrassing wind the kind of wind that says you have exercised no self control at all. I am not sorry to say that if any of you are a genuine Christian you would avoid Christmas like a banana skin on the sidewalk. It is a catholic stink and nothing more and in typical catholic fashion peppered with links into the seedy world of beelzebub himself and giving cause to fellowship with him and eat at the table of demons. Something Christ would and does abhor. Even the protestants who continually warn us of the catholic church and its herecys celebrate Christmas!?! It is a filthy little festival dripping with world compromise, lies and deceit. And even the Queen of England who would not let a catholic any where near the throne and hasn’t for over 300 years, ACKNOWLEDGES the catholic/pagan festival every year…talk about hypocracy. The vatican who maintains graven images of pagan gods within her own walls and so is directly breaking the law given to Moses, supports Satan. They claim that the KJV is not the inspired word of God, yet the Pentatuch is violated with the paintings of Isis and so on in the vatican. Jesus said, “away from me you workers of iniquity for I never knew you”. Evil workers just look how evil Christmas is, look how they have worked satanic filth into the birth of Christ. The christmas tree and the misiltoe both are symbols of fertilty in pagan minds yet Christ was not born of a mans seed but of the Holy Spirit, sheer filth! Evil! Christmas is not a true christian and pure festival, it is nothing more than a bastardization of Christs birth and all will be held accountable for the masturbation of the whore of bablylon in maintaining such an ungodly festival. I dont even want to mention Father Christmas or santa clause, red nosed flying riendeer, elfs, fairys and all the rest of those graven images that Satan and his minions pollutes and weakens nations with.

    1. Stephen, again you have managed to mingle some truth with baseless accusations. It must be lonely to be the only prophetic voice on the mountaintop, always calling everyone in the valley below to repent except oneself. That is a burden no one should bare alone, I’ll be praying for you.

  2. Oh and ps just in case anyone decides to kick off about the tree and misiltoe, one word, Fornicators. They are not pure symbols, be warned.

        1. Absolutely! Thanks for that. And I feel,[re Stephens comment] whatever its origins, Christmas offers us many opportunities to share and enjoy and love, and remind ourselves that we should be extending these same aspects daily to all we meet.

  3. My Father In Law used to be one of those KJV Only guys too…he got delivered. So do we worship the “Word” Version or the “Word” Jesus? When the Pentateuch was penned…was it in 1611? Was it not written in Hebrew? Cannot the same God that inspired the translation from Spirit to man in the Hebrew language also inspire it in Normal everyday language? Whats your beef “Bra”? Stephen your really going to like this…I read from an NIV. That should warrent a Novel response. My NIV tells me in John 1 that Jesus is the Word. It also tells me that “the light (WORD/JESUS) shines in darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.” Even Nicodemus, a Jewish Ruling Council Member, did not get it! He not only read from the original Hebrew text but heard it from the Word/God Himself. But he still remained in darkness. “Flesh gives birth to Flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to Spirit” Jesus said. I like this part too, “The wind blows where ever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” You know what that tells me??? If Nicodemus would have been reading from a KJV, NIV, ESV……it would not have amounted to a hill of beans. Why? Cause the KJV is just a book of jumbled up words to the Lost. 1 Cor. 1: 18 “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing”
So…with that said “The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing”….Thank You Father for drawing me to yourself. Amen! Thank You Jesus…can I get a witness!!!!
